Michigan Youths Join Sherut La'Am NEW YORK — A total of 41 young adults, includ- ing Jeffrey Aaronson of Flint, and Russel Braun of Huntington Woods, left for Israel last week as volunteers with Sherut La'Am, a one-year ser- vice program which ena- bles college graduates to do work in Israeli de- velopment towns. Before receiving their assignments, the group will spend its first three months in Israel attend- ing an ulpan in the de- velopment town of Kiryat Shmona. NEW YORK — Rabbi Pinchas Stolper has been elected to the post of executive vice president of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. For the past 17 years, Rabbi Stolper has built the UOJCA's youth movement, the National Conference of Synagogue Youth, (NCSY), from its infancy to its present status as one of the world's largest youth movements, reaching over 30,000 teenagers throughout the United States, Canada and Is- rael.
