WE, AS LABOR ZIONISTS welcome the bipartisan support of Israel in this year's presidential campaign, and all efforts to enhance her security and to effect peace with her neighbors. However, eight years of the Nixon-Ford Administration have made it abundantly clear that the urgent problems and frustrations caused by declining urban centers, deepening recession, rising un- employment, severe cuts in education, inadequate housing and health care, to mention only a few items, remain unsolved. Nor have we seen any genuine attempt at their solution. We believe therefore that the Democratic Party offers a domestic program that supports the goals toward which Labor Zionists have historically striven and gives us a measure of hope for the future; that is, programs that will help close the cultural and economic gaps that exist in our society, assume national responsibility for the problems of our cities and recognize the role of trade unions in helping workers achieve social and financial security. We, therefore endorse the national Democratic slate, Jimmy Carter for President and Walter Mondale for Vice-President.
