Israel Gets Billions
Since 1973 War
JERUSALEM (ZINS)
— According to a state-
ment made by Israel's-
economic representative
in Washington, Ze'ev
Sha'ar,
has .re-
ceived more
more than $5 bill-
ion in aid from the Ameri-
can government since the
outbreak of the Yom Kip-
pur War.
The Israeli spokesman
said that America's
military assistance to Is-
rael was still 30 percent
less than what hiS gov-
ernment had requested
and that Washington had
asked Israel to reduce its
dependency on American
military assistance.
Sha'ar further said
that the military balance
of power in the Middle
East is now in Israel's
favor because Wash-
ington maintains a satis-
factory relationship with
Egypt which would pre-
clude Egyptian support of
any Syrian instigated
•war against Israel.
