The best way for me to explain to you what N.C.S.Y. is would be to take you to an N. C. S.Y. event. This not being possible for most, please accept my invitation to come and visit me or call. My office is at 17071 West Ten Mile Rd. and my phone number is 557-0130. Due to the fact that neither of these alternatives may be possible for you I will attempt to explain N.C.S.Y. to you through a fetter I received some time ago. At the time the letter was written the young man was seventeen. Dear Zerach, I've belonged to N.C.S.Y. for three years now and I have decided to write you why. My family is not Sabbath observing ancLour home is not kosher, so why be a member? I have come to realize that N.C.S.Y. is not for those who are religious solely but rather for every young Jew. Remember last month the dilemma I had that we talked about. (Whether he should play for his high school basketball team. The games were played on Friday night.) I thank you for helping me to make a decision without telling me what to do. A few years ago it wouldn't have mattered now everything Jewish matters. To be able to be a part of my people as all young Jews should be that's great. This is my last year in N.C.S.Y. and it took me this long to figure out why I stayed around. Sure I've had a lot of fun but I remember the beginning when I first joined. My friends calling me a fairy for being a member. It took a long time to get over that. I know this year will be as great as the others were and that's because of the people in N.C.S.Y., the good friends and_eager advisors. Take care, gag Last week I received another letter from Jon. Rather than reproduce the entire letter let me read to you a short excerpt. Writing about his new job, he states, "Through my first two months here I think I've amazed the people in the firm by my committment to being Jewish and all causes of the Jewish people. I thank N.C.S.Y. for what they've given me." THIS IS BUILDING COM- MITTMENT IN JEWISH YOUTH THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME.
