E TRUST
JIMMY CARTER'S
FAITH

HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL

SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

"The Republican Administrations have reduced, under-funded
and vetoed virtually every social service program proposed. The
Carter Administration seeks to restore hope. Our young,
families and elderly should not have to worry whether their basic
needs will be met."

"I believe faith is a deeply personal matter. One of the basic
tenets of mine is the complete separation of Church and State."

ISRAEL

"Our nation should make it clear that a basic cornerstone of our
foreign policy is the preservation of a strong and secure Israel."

FREEDOM FOR SOVIET JEWS

"I would not hesitate to use trade pressure to encourage the
Soviet Union to allow the emigration of Jewish citizens."

FIGHTING ARAB BOYCOTTS AND EMBARGOES

"I would make it clear to the Arab countries that if they ever
again try to blackmail this country as they did in 1973, we would
consider it, not a military, but an economic declaration of war."
. . . The Department of Commerce has shut its eyes to the (Arab)
boycott. All laws concerning these boycotts should be vigorously
enforced and legislation should be passed to make compliance
with any secondary boycott against Israel illegal."
