Hebrew, Yiddish and
children's programs will
highlight the Jewish
Community Center's 25th
annual Book Fair to take
place Nov. 13-22 in the
main Center complex in
West Bloomfield.
The Yiddish Committee
of the Center will co-
sponsor the appearance
of author Selwyn
Schwartz, who will speak
in Yiddish at 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 14 in Room 301 on
"Jacob Gladstein — the
Modern Nachman Bras-
lover."

Yiddish-English theater
will be presented 8 p.m.
Nov. 20 in the Center's
Shiffman Hall, featuring
Miriam Kressyn and
Seymour Rexsite who will
present songs and read-
ings. Miss Kressyn has
entertained on radio,
starred in operettas,
comedies and Yiddish
drama. Her husband is a
Yiddish stage, screen,
radio and television star.
There is an admission
charge and bus transpor-
tation from the 10 Mile
branch is available at a

Shiffman Clinic will
close its doors at Sinai
Hospital of Detroit today
to reopen Monday in new
quarters in the Blumberg
Professional Office Build-
ing an the campus of Sinai
Hospital.
The Shiffman Clinic
has been operative at the
hospital. since 1959 as
successor to the North
End Clinic which was lo-
cated at 936 Holbrook and
opened its doors in Au-
gust 1926.
In the years it has oper-
ated, the Shiffman Clinic
has been a way station for
tens of thousands of new-
comers to Detroit, drawn
from all religions,
nationalities and races.
Today, its more than 7,600
patients account for some
31,000 patient visits annu-
ally.
The establishment of
the clinic at Sinai was
made possible by the
Shiffman Foundation.
The work of the
Shiffman Clinic is sup-
ported by contributions
from the United Founda-
tion and the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation in addi-
tion to the donated ser-
vice of the hospital's
physicians and the fees

and educational institu-
tions Oct. 7 in a preview of
the Renaissance Center
Fashion Circle.
Renaissance Fashion
Circle will contain 350,000
square feet of retail area,
which is equivalent in
size to a major regional
shopping center.
It will be a 2 1/2 level mall
containing a collection of
some 100 specialty shops
and services. As the name
suggests, the complex
forms a circle surround-
ing the eight-story hotel
lobby atrium and inter-
connects with all office
towers.

educator, author and lin-
guist, in a program in
Hebrew entitled "The
Many Facets of Modern
Hebrew" 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21
in Room 301 of the

The film "My Michael,"
based on the book by
Amos Oz will be shown at
4 and 7 p.m. Nov 21 in the
Aaron DeRoy Studio
Theater of the Center.
The film is in Hebrew

will be relocated from the
Shiffman Wing of the
hospital to the Blumberg
Professional Office Build-
ing on the Six Mile' Road
side of Sinai's campus.
