Told Anecdotes About Actors
JERUSALEM — A
promising treatment for
some forms of skin cancer
has been deyeloped by
scientists at the Hebrew
University - Hadassah
Medical School.
The therapy, developed
by Prof. Adam Bekier-
kunst of the medical bac-
teriology department and
Prof. Haim Cohen of the
dermatology and ven-
ereology department, is
the result of research
going on for the past eight
years on the biological ac-
tivities of cord factor.
Based.on their findings,
Prof. Bekierkunst and
Cohen developed a killed
BCG and .cord factor pre-
paration in the form of an
ointment which Prof.
Cohen successfully uses
on patients with skin
tumors.
While living BCG has
been known to be effec-
tive in treating some can-
cers, it is difficult to use it
in skin cancer with large
areas affected. The oint-
ment with BCG and cord
factor added is easily
spread on a large area,
and has proven to be , ry
effective theraputical.y.
