LISTENING

MARTY AARON
thoughtfully bought wife
Ida an electric blanket,
since she always comp-
lains about cold sheets
. . • . During the recent
chilly and damp spell, Ida
was a little reluctant to
sleep under all that elec-
tric wiring, but Marty as-
sured her it was safe, and
in minutes she was doz-
ing off very contentedly
. . . What he didn't know
was that Ida had put a
beef stew in the oven to
bake all night at low
heat . . . When Marty
awakened in the night
and smelled something
cooking, he reached over
and shook her . . . "Ida,
Ida, honey! Are you all
right?"
SOME CUSTOMERS of
the Oakland Bath House
on Oakland and Mel-
bourne . . . Hy Jacobs
and Carl Weiner plus a
couple others . . . have
bought the place, are
tearing it apart and re-
juvenating the once very
popular spot . . . New
name will be The Schvitz
. . . opening this month
. . . Only things left are
the walls, swimming pool
and steam room . . . A
new whirlpool is being
put in . and a pleasant
. dining room in front for
fellows to bring their
wives . . . so she can see
where he goes.

Glerinwood Chapter, Wo-
men's American ORT,

each year with their very
fine fund raiser, will have
another annual Lox Box,
Oct. 24 . . . Delivery will
be to the door on Sunday
mornings . . . anywhere
$3.75 for two people . .
$6.50 for four people . . .
with the boxes containing
1/4 or 1/3 lb. of lox, bagels, -
orange juice, cream
cheese and coffee cake
. . . No sense getting up
and making breakfast
when the Glennwood las-
sies will deliver it in full

IT'S MORE THAN just

every year, it's a party,
with drinking, singing,
dancing and entertain-
ment downstairs in the
