This is your anniver- sary, it ends the first sad year; It is beyond our think- ing, why you left us darling dear. We wanted to comfort you, we tried our very best; But our Lord made a decision, Darling, that you deserved a rest. When evening shad- ows start falling, and we sit quietly alone; To our hearts there comes a longing, if you could only come home. Friends may think we have forgotten, when at times they see us smile; Little do they know the heartache, that our smile hides all the while.
