Toland Reveals How Hitler Masterminded The Final Solution
"Adolf Hitler" by John
Toland (Doubleday) now
assumes a major position
as the most definitive
book on the subject of the
Nazi leader.
New documentaries,
data based on more than
250 interviews the
prize-winning author had

Fuehrer and a mass of
other supplementary ma-
terial makes the work a
most revealing account of
the tragedies of the 1930s
and 1940s. ,

terminate the Jews.
Contrary to some claims
that Hitler did not know
about the Nazi plans for
mass murder of Jews, the
new Toland book shows

how Hitler himself had di-

scheme.

the many aspects of Hi-

to call attention to the
heinous Nazi schemes.
The Jewish ancestry of
Hitler, stemming from an
illegitimacy, again is in-

Resolves to Bolster Campaign
JERUSALEM (JTA) —
A number of resolutions
designed to strengthen
the upcoming 1977 cam-
paign were passed at the
closing of the European
conference of Keren
Hayesod-United Israel
Appeal in Lausanne,
Switzerland.
Participating were
more than 200 delegates
from 11 countries, includ-
ing France, Britain,
Switzerland, West Ger-•
many, Belgium, Italy,
Holland, Austria, Swe-
den, Denmark and
Monaco.
The conference called
upon Jewish communities
to intensify fund-raising
efforts, in order to pro-
vide the income for the
$502 million budget of the
Jewish Agency for the
current fiscal year.
The conference opened
with a message by Yosef
Almogi, chairman of the
World Zionist Organiza-
tion and the Jewish
Agency Executives, who
stressed the pivotal role
of Keren Hayesod in
Jewish communities
throughout the Diaspora.
"We live in an era of
risks and opportunities,"
he told the delegates. "The
choice between them, and
our hopes for the future,
depend on you, and the
Jewish communities which
you represent."
The European confer-
ence; the first in seven
years, was the major
event in conjunction with
the launching of ,next
year's campaign.
Other resolutions dealt
with the need to
strengthen the involve-
ment of young leadership
and women's divisions in
campaign work, to de-
velop mass campaign ac-
tivities designed to reach
the broad Jewish popula-
tion, and to increase the
number of study missions
visiting israel.
The resolutions also
reiterated the centrality
of the overall campaign
for Israel's human and
social needs, in accor-
dance with the recent
general assembly of the

The interviews he co ► -

and the revelations make
the new Hitler story one of
the most significant
addenda to the works of
William Shirer and other
authorities on the subject
of Hitlerism.
