Home, an Orthodox
agency in Brooklyn's
Boro Park which provides
comprehensive, care for
children unable to live
with their parents, plans
to open a new residence
facility in the Flatbush
section for girls on Oct. 1.
The facility, which, is to
be located in a renovated
two-family house, will
have places for eight girls
but 'will start with four
girls, aged 13. 14, 15 and
20. In accordance with
the agency's Orthodox
philosophy, the family-
home arrangement, with
a limited number of child
residents, has been or-
ganized to provide a
warm, personal setting in
which the individual
needs of the girls can be
net by houseparents and
professionals.
Three housemothers
will live at the new home
and a family will live in
each weekend in the role of
a Sabbath family, a father,
mother and, at the most,
one child. Two senior
counselors also will live at
the facility, alternating
nights and remaining. at
the facility until the young
residents depart for
school.
The new facility is the
only group home for such
girls under Orthodox au-
spices. The site had been
chosen because it was felt
that the Flatbush section
provided unique oppor-
tunities for integration of
the girls into a religious
community.

Vladimir
Sokolov-
Samarin, who has taught
at Yale for 17 years,
claimed that anti-
Communism, not anti-
Semitism, was his over-
riding sentiment in the
articles.
He added that he had
not known at the time
that Jews are being ex-
terminated by the Ger-
mans. "If I had known
they were being killed, I
never would have written
those things," he said.
His work' was disclosed
in April by a Soviet
Yiddish-language jour-
nal, Sovietish Heimland.
In one editorial,
Sokolov-Samarin wrote
that every time he heard a
Jewish name he imagined
"a large yellow rat with a
protruding mug." At other
times he advocated vio-
lence against "kikes" and
praised the German lead-
ership.
He said that in recent
years he had become an
avid 'pro-Zionist because
he believed it was the best
way to fight cbmmunism.
Sokolov-Samarin said
he had aided the Germans
because they were anti-
Communist. "The enemy
of my enemy is my
friend, - he said. "I know
no nationalitie.s, only
Communist and anti-
Communist."
He said he now believed
that Jews and anti-
Communists had the
same goal, "to liquidate
the Soviet system. -
