Lubavitch Make Tashlikh Preparations

The Lubavitch Center
has arranged with the
Oak Park Department of
Recreation to again make
available the Oak Park
swimming pool for the
Tashlikh Service. The
pool will be open from 3-8
p.m. Sunday.

the name of George Ball
as a candidate for Secret-
ary of State from his list
of possible cabinet ap-
pointments.

Israelis, Syrians
Discuss Druze

TEL AVIV (JTA) Is-
raeli and Syrian officers
have met at the demarca-
tion line on the Golan
Heights, it was disclosed
Sunday. The meeting,
which took place several
days previous, dealt with
procedures for allowing
Druze families on both
sides of the line to meet.
Two weeks ago, the first
such reunions since the
Six-Day War took place
under United Nations
supervision, following
agreement between Is-
rael and Syria.
The Israeli and Syrian
officers are also believed
to have discussed the Sy-
rian soldier who defected
to Israel. He was iden-
tified as Pvt. Ibrahim
Mouhan-imed Jabi, 25, a
Druze who served in a Sy-
rian infantry unit
stationed on the Golan
Heights.

mental internship program in Jewish communal
careers administered by the Jewish Vocational Ser-
vice & Community Workshop and the Jewish Com-
munity Center.

PROVIDED funding for the community-wide Tay
Sachs disease screening program run by Sinai Hos-

pital and the Ford Hospital Genetic Counselling
Clinic.

ESTABLISHED a camp-
ing program for
families
spending
weekends and holiday
periods at Camp
Tamarack, as well as a
Judaic-oriented program for
young couples who ,attend
the University of Michigan graduate school.

GIVEN special "seed money" grants to Hillel or-
ganizations on the campus at Wayne State Univer-
sity and Michigan State University to expand
Jewish programming and service for collegians.
