Special Bar Mitzva Excursion
to Israel Arranged for Youth
JERUSALEM — A
group of American Jews
recently joined a Tour
Ve'Aleh Bar Mitzvah
Group. They came to Is-
rael with their families to
see aspects of the country
that as ordinary tourists
they would not normally
see.
Tour Ve'Aleh is an or-
ganization that encour-
ages people to seriously
consider settling in Is-
rael. It provides informa-
tion regarding tours, in-
vestments, immigration
and education to those
who wish to learn about
Israel.
Among the highlights
of the trip was a visit to an
absorption center where
the youth met newly ar-
rived immigrant families,
from Portugal, Russia
and Romania.
A special presentation
was made to the boys of a
book on Israel and each
received a personal letter
from Uzi Narkiss, head of
the aliya department of the
Jewish Agency.
Another highlight of
the Bar Mitzva trip was a
specially organized
ceremony held at the
Wailing Wall, where all
the boys were called upon
to say a special Bar
Mitzva prayer.
Additional information
about the "Tour Ve'Aleh
Bar Mitzvah Group" may
be obtained by contacting
the Israel Aliya Center,
