The report was instrumental in bringing about the UN Resolution for the partition of Pales- tine and the establish- ment of Israel. He served with the Palyam, the sea arm of the Palmach, and was a member of the Hagana. He also helped raise funds and supplies for Israel. Schneider has been ap- pointed the educational director of the Sinai Tem- ple in Los Angeles. Rabbi Schneider will supervise the religious instruction and youth program for more than 600 students. Rabbi Schneider re- ceived his bachelor's de- gree with honors from Brandeis University was ordained in 1974 by the Jewish Theological Seminary. He is a doc- toral candidate in educa- tional administration at Teacher's College, Co- lumbia University. His brother, Dr. Jerry A. Schneider, associate pro- fessor of pediatrics at the University of California at San Diego's medical school, received a 1976 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fel- Detroit Honors Mrs-. Robinson Zelda Robinson, newly elected member of the Southfield Board of Edu- cation, was among 50 women who received a certificate of recognition from the city of Detroit "for an outstanding con- tribution to the better- ment of Detroit as an at- tractive and refreshing community in which to work, live and play." Mrs: Robinson is a life member of Hadassah, the Jewish Community Council, League of Women Voters and is it= certified Braille trans*- criber. JNF Issues Its New Year Appeal In relation to its annual New Year appeal, Jewish National Fund president Mark E. Schlussel said that special tree certifi- cates to be used as new year greetings will be is- sued this year.
