the United Nations an
eyewitness report on the
illegal refugee ship,
Exodus. The report was
instrumental in bringing
about the UN Resolution
for the partition of Pales-
tine and the establish-
ment of Israel.
He served with the
Palyam, the sea arm of the
Palmach, and was a
member of the Hagana.
He also helped raise funds
and supplies for Israel.
At the luncheon, spon-
sors contributors of
$1,500 — and Ambas-
sador's Society members
— contributors of $10,000
— will receive special
pins.

Ex-Detroit Brothers Cited

Two former Detroit
brothers have achieved
separate honors in their
particular professions.
Rabbi Paul D.
Schneider has been ap-
pointed the educational
director of the Sinai Tem-
ple in Los Angeles. Rabbi
Schneider will supervise
the religious instruction
and youth program for
more than 600 students.
Rabbi Schneider re-
ceived his bachelor's de-
gree with honors from
Brandeis University
was ordained in 1974 by
the Jewish Theological
Seminary. He is a doc-
toral candidate in educa-
tional administration at
Teacher's College, Co-
lumbia University.
His brother, Dr. Jerry A.
Schneider, associate pro-
fessor of pediatrics at the
University of California at
San Diego's medical
school, received a 1976

Memorial Foundation fel-

elected member of the
Southfield Board of Edu-
cation, was among 50

JNF Issues Its
New Year Appeal

In relation to its annual
New Year appeal, Jewish
National Fund president
Mark E. Schlussel said
that special tree certifi-
cates to be used as new
year greetings will be is-
sued this year.
At the same time,
Schlussel announced that
JNF stamps, designed to
be affixed to high.-holy
day tickets also are avail-
able. Phillip Stollman is
chairman of the JNF re-
ligious groups committee.
