will buy 24 Israeli Kfir jet
aircraft from the Israel
Aircraft IndUstry — a
sale totaling about $200
million. The deal includes
pilot training and ground
maintenance equipment.

Metropolitan Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah will
meet 12:15 p.m. Sept. 7 at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Refreshments will be
served.
Mrs. Stanley Lieberman
of New York, a member of
Hadassah's national board
and national major gifts
coordinator, will be guest
speaker.
A musical program will
be presented. A baby-sitting
service for children age 2
and older is available.

JNF Trees to Bar
Illegal Settlements

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
The Jewish National
Fund plans to plant trees
on an area of 10,000
dunams (2,500 acres) in
the Galilee, partly to pre-
vent Arabs from seizing
the land illegally.
The problem of unau-
thorized housing con-
struction by Arab resi-
dents on land owned by
the government has
troubled the authorities
for some time now.
