Soviet Lecturer Charged With Promoting Bias
WASHINGTON (JTA)
— Bnai Brith has cited
the activities of an official
Soviet propagandist, a
professional public lec-
turer and writer, who ac-
cuses Zionists of being
anti-Semites bent on
world domination, as evi-
dence that "anti-
Semitism remains very
much a Kremlin political
ploy,"

Blumberg said that
Yemelyanov's career as a
lecturer is sponsored by
the Central Committee of
the Soviet Communist
Party, giving "an official
imprimatur to his rabid
anti-Semitism." Yemel-
yanov, posing as a "scien-
tific specialist" on
Zionism, -has described
The Zionist movement as
possessing "strictly sec-
ret frameworks", that in-
clude "almost all the pres-
idents and parliaments of
the developed capitalist
countries, and especially
those of the U.S."
Blumberg said that in
"similar absurdities,"
Yemelyanov claimed that
"80 percent of the
economy and 95 percent of
the mass media in the
capitalist world are
Zionist-owned," that
Zionists are the secret
owners of foreign oil com-
panies in Arab lands, and
that the Torah was the
"blackest hook" ever
written.
Blumberg, who said
Bnai Brith would protest
Yemelyanov's lectures
and writings to the Soviet
Ambassador, noted that
the Russian's lectures
were exposed by the
Soviet Jewish under-
ground.

WASHINGTON — Ac-
cording to Aviation Week
& Space Technology, Is-
rael Aircraft Industries is
moving ahead on the de-
sign of a strike fighter in
anticipation of problems
in procurement of the
U.S. F-16 fighter to re-
place its A-4's and F-4's in
the early 1980's.
The A-4/F-4 replace-
ment is considered vital
to counter the continuing
modernization and buil-
dup of weapons supplied
to the Arabs by the Soviet
Union, Europe and the
U.S. A combination of in-
ternal and external
economic setbacks has
forced Israel to seek al-
ternatives to an all F-16
buy.
In addition, Israel is
continuing production of
its own Kfir fighter and
production is now begin
ning on the Kfir C2, a
modified version of the
earlier plane which is de-
signed for air-to-air com-
bat with a secondary role
of ground support.
