JERUSALEM — "De-
tente" between Israeli
and Egyptian shrimp
fishermen off the Sinai
coast has been growing
since the Israel-Egypt
Sinai interim accords
were signed.
An Israeli Fisherman's
Union spokesman reports
that the fishermen, who
used to keep a wide no-
man's area between
them, are now working
practically "stern-to-
stern."
The spokesman said
the two groups of fisher-
men do not fraternize,
facing their boats in op-
posite directions, and the
unwritten boundary line
between the two groups is
politely enforced through
hand signals.

been arrested in Argen-
tina July 22 and released
Aug. 3 would continue
their work there. He said
he has ordered sending
two more emissaries to
Argentina to strengthen
the WZO's work with
youth and other Zionist
activities.
Almogi, who met with
the five emissaries, said
that their arrest after at-
tending a Zionist confer-
ence in Cordoba had no-
thing to do with their
Zionist activities. He said
the present regime in
Buenos Aires is neither
anti-Zionist nor anti-
Jewish.
What happened, accord-
ing to Almogi, was that the
leftist group split several
years ago from "El Com-
mittee" which is affiliated
with the Israel Labor
Zionist kibutz movement,
Ihud Hakvutzot VeH-
akibutzim, and joined
left-wing circles in Argen-
tina.
The Argentine regime
thought the seminar in
Cordoba which was spon-
sored by "El Committee"
was being held by the
splinter group, Almogi
explained. He said when
the mistake was cleared
up the Israelis were re-
leased.
In unrelated action,
Almogi has proposed that
the number of emissaries
overseas be cut and that
they be selected by stric-
ter standards.
