Stollman's appeal for scholarships also gained momentum in an addi- tional appeal by David B. Hermelin and Irving Nusbaum, co-chairmen of the annual dinner of De- troit Friends of Bar-Ilan University to be held at Cong. Shaarey Zedek Sept. 23. Meanwhile, more than 300 overseas students, the highest number to date, will attend special sum- mer courses beginning next month at Bar-Ilan, Is- rael's only religious oriented university. This represents a 50 percent increase over the previous year and reverses- a downward trend which had begun following the Yom Kippur War. This was revealed re- cently by 'Rabbi Joseph Lookstein, chancellor of Bai-Ilan University, who noted that of the 300 per- sons who will be attend- ing the special summer courses, a quarter are teachers and principals of Hebrew day schools from Canada.
