The Truth endureth, but not the Lie. —Talmud Citrin, Strichartz Head State Public Health Code Revision The proposed Public Health Code for the state of Michigan is largely the result of the efforts of two Detroit area Jewish lead- ers. Toby Citrin of Temple Israel serves as the chairman of the Gover- nor's Commission on Pub- lic Health Statute Re- view and is vice chairman of the public health sta- tute revision project. Richard Strichartz, professor of law at Wayne State University and a member of' the Temple Beth El board of trustees is executive director of the project. Citrin has served as president of the Michigan Association of Boards of Health. He presently serves as a member of the board of directors of De- troit General Hospital, the city of Detroit Health Ad- visory Council and as chairman of the Jewish Welfare Federation's committee on insurance and retirement. Strichartz has served as general counsel to Wayne State University and was controller for the city of Detroit under Mayor Jerome P. Cavanagh. The proposed Public Health Code is a 450-page document which took 16 months to prepare. It eliminates outdated laws, clarifies inconsistencies within statutes and modernizes the delivery system for health care within the state. Strichartz said the legislation is presently being reviewed by the health committees of the Senate and House.
