Names Go ldie Adler as Honoree

in the Israel Bond prog-
ram since its inception in
1951, will be the honoree
at the Oct. 28 Women's
Division Israel Bond
Fashion Show at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek, an-
nounced Fashion Show
Chairman Dolores Gor-

Inauguration of the
Nathan P. Rossen Wing
in the Life Science Build-
ing of Ba•-Ilan Univer-
sity in Ramat Gan, Israel,
will be commemorated at
an annual dinner of De-
troit Friends of Bar-Ilan
University, Tuesday
evening, Sept. 21, at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Phillip Stollman, global
chairman of the board of
the university, upon his
return from Israel two
weeks ago, reported that
confirmation of the Ros-
sen gift was on the
agenda of the university
board meeting at which
he presided. He expres-
sed the university's
gratitude to Rossen and
praised the Detroit
philanthropist for his
generosity and for his
deep devotion to Israel's
educational program.

Mrs. Adler was honor-
ary chairman of the De-
troit Job Training for
Women, helped organize
the Women's Division of
the Detroit Round Table
of Catholics, Protestants
and Jews and the Wo-
men's Division of the
Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion. Mrs. Adler was ap-
pointed to the Centennial
Commission of Wayne
State University.

She has served on the
boards of the women's
guilds of Sinai, Children's
and Hutzel hospitals; the
Southfield Arts Council,
Brandeis University, the
Wayne State University
Press, Hadassah, Bnai
B•ith, the Shapero School

Wreath" Award, the high-
est national honor bes-
towed by that organiza-
tion; Mt. Carmel Hospital
has awarded her the
"Lady of Mercy" Award;
her alma mater, the
Jewish Theological Semi-
nary, has honored her with
its Solomon Schechter
Award; and Mrs. Adler re-
ceived the "Eleanor
Roosevelt Humanitarian"
Award at a Shaarey
Zedek—Israel Dinner of
State.

Mrs. Adler has taught
the Bible and Hebrew to
adult classes and is a fre-
quent book reviewer. She
co-edited and compiled
"The Voice Still Speaks"
and "May I Have a Word
With You", two books of
the late Rabbi Adler's
sermons.

This year's fashion
show will highlight col-
lections by several of Is-
rael's internationally
famous fashion houses
and a selection of haute
couture and furs created
especially for this show
by Israel's top designers.

The show will tour 60
major cities in the United
States and Canada. Ad-
mission will be by purch-
ase of a State of Israel
