Americans are "running the

ling the nature and scope of
our involvement?"

experts have concluded that
without American support
the Saudis could not effec-

is understood to consider
the sale excessive insofar
as Saudi Arabia's defense
needs are concerned. This
has raised fears that the
Saudis may transfer some
of them to Arab states who
are in direct confrontation
with Israel.

Opposition to the sale has

NEW YORK — Israel has
been tentatively selected to
host the next World Con-
gress on Medical Law, de-
spite objections from Saudi
Arabia.
The Congress, with 300
delegates concluding a four-
day meeting in Manila this
week, said it would wait six
months to hear possible ob-
jections before making its
decision final.
The Saudi delegate
claimed that Arab and
Third World countries could
not attend a meeting in Is-
rael. Haifa judge Amon
Carmi said the Israeli gov-
ernment would guarantee
that all delegates would be
issued visas.

implementation. The new
authority will also be re-
sponsible for oil prospecting
in Israel, the acquisition of
oil franchises in Israel and
abroad, the use of electric-
