Committee for the Israel
EnVironment, a group of
professional and lay individ-
uals concerned with the
problems of maintaining
and improving the quality of
Israel's environment, has
announced the establish-
ment of the Zimmerman
Prize, an award of $1000 to
be made annually to the Is-

nificant contribution to the
improvement of the Israel
environment.
William Zimmerman, the

New York realtor philan-
thropist.
Open to all Israelis, the
award represents "the
growing awareness in Is-
rael of the dramatic changes
in that country, not all to
the good, which rapid devel-
opment has introduced in
the three decades of state-
hood. It also signals the
emergence of a growing
community of Israelis who
have distinguished them-
selves in various areas of en-
vironment amelioration."

Are they prepared to live as Jews in the. cultural pluralism of
today's society?
