Harold Shore, 66

Julius Chudnow

NEW YORK (JTA) —
Harold M. Shore, a publicist
for major Jewish social
agencies and fund-raising
campaigns for more than 30
years, died June 30 at
Mount Sinai Hospital after
being hospitalized on June
20 for a chronic heart condi-
tion. He was 66.

Julius Chudnow, a life
insurance agent for more
than 30 years with Metro-
politan Life Insurance Co.,
died July 6 at age 83.
Mr. Chudnow was born in
Russia and was a Detroit
resident for 52 years.
He resided at 20840 Wich-
ester, Southfield. He is sur-
vived by his son, Mandel
(Manny); a daughter,
Mildred; and four grand-
sons.

Shore was co-director of
publicity for the United
Jewish Appeal of Greater
New York for 19 years and
was associate public rela-
tions director of the Joint
Campaign of the UJA of
Greater New York and the
Federation of Jewish Phi-
lanthropies in 1974. He
ed in that capacity until
etirement last year.

Shore also served as pub-
lic relations director for the
New York Association for
New Americans and for the
Jewish Theological Semi-
nary and United Service
Organizations.

Julius Rosen ; 81

Julius Rosen, a self-em-
ployed jeweler and founder
of Rosen's Jewelers in De-
troit, died July 7 at age 81.
Mr. Rosen established his
business in 1918 and ran it
until his retirement in 1965.
He was born in Russia
and was a Detroit resident
for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife,
Elsie; two sons, Dr. Irving T.
Rowe and Dr. Harold R.
Rowe; and three grandsons.

mer Detroiter of Muskegon,
died June 12 at age 50.
The former Lois Lawson
of Detroit, she was a resi-
dent of Muskegon since
1944, and was co-owner of
Cherin's Furs and Fine Ap,
parel. She was president of
Temple Bnai Israel, Hadas-
sah sisterhood and the
Muskegon Area Develop-
ment. Council.
She was also a Sunday
school principal, Red Cross
grey lady and member of
the Mercy Hospital Guild.
She is survived by her
husband, Jerome; a son,
David; a daughter, Beth;
two sisters, Judy Lawson
and Mrs. Donald (Barbara)
Heiman, both of Philadel-
phia, and her mother, Mrs.
Rose Lawson. Interment
Muskegon.
