The Mandate given by the
League of Nations enjoined
upon Britain to facilitate
Jewish settlement on the
land as clearly an indispen-
sable factor in the making
of a Jewish National Home
in Palestine. In spite of so
plain an injunction, the
Mandatory Government
was culpably unforthcom-
ing in the disposal of State
domain to Jews, not least
during the years of the im-
migration of German Jews
fleeing from the Nazi terror
and afire to till the soil of
their forefathers.
