Israeli Women

Danny Raskin's

JERUSALEM (ZINS) -
Among government officials
Israeli women number 39
percent as compared with 33
percent employed in the
business world. The average
educational level is higher
for men than for women.
While there is some par-
ity in the number of women
and men who study as un-
dergraduates, the number
of men in postgraduate and
doctoral courses is three
times greater than that of
women. There are four
times as many widows and
divorcees as there are wid-
owers and divorced men.

POST

arrived as a poetess. She
makes up really charming
poetry for friends and rela-
tives for various occasions.
Strangers who have heard
of her talent call her and
prevail upon her good na-
ture. She never lets them
down. (Happy Brithday).
MOREY and ROSE
SACKS recently spent
rather dismal Mother's and
Father's Days. Their chil-
dren, Bert, Gary, Judy and
Benjamin (Recca) all reside
in California . . . but they
will be making up for it soon
with a surprise visit to the
sunny clime.
HY and SHIRLEY
ABELMAN like Greek
cuisine so much that Hy will
be taking up Greek dancing
(a la Zorba the Greek) and
then visit the authentic res-
taurants where he can dis-
play his talents. Be sure to
carry an extra hanky, Hy.
HY JACOBS and friends
will soon turn on the
'steam' at the Oakland
'Star' Bath House. With
their legion of friends, the
place should be jumping
with- nostaligia.
GOING BACK to the old
days with land developer,
Robert Ellis, our neighbor
on-Normandy St. near Lin-
wood and talking about the
Custer school, days and
when Bob had a sub-station
for the Detroit Times where
we got our route papers.
Those were the times, my
friend. (No pun intended)
SEY'MOUR
SCHWARTZ was really
floored recently when a
group of senior citizens, all
past 80, called to book a
"sexy' show because their
entertainment diet is so
bland . . they needed a lit-
tle more spice in their life.
Reminds me of the octogen-
arian who keeps running
after the younger ladies, but
forgets what for.

ETHEL SALTER, for-
mer Detroiter now living in
California was in for a few
days to attend the Iry Pitts'
wedding anniversary bash.
Very animated in conversa-
tion over the good old days
with Al and Gertie Stern,
Joe and Tillie Greenberg,
Joe and Buddi Rocklin,
Blanche and Jay Joseph,
Pauline and Ruby Samson.
Ethel was a guest at the
homes of Blanche and Ben
Klar and Rose and Peter
Salter.
ANN ROSENBERG,
newly elected president of
Mizrachi . . . one of the
sweetest gals to take over
the gavel . . best luck and
good wishes.
SAM and HELEN WI-
NER always seem to hurry
through their main course
at Irving's Deli so Sam can
get at the sour cream cake.
SHERI MOSER, ace sa-
lesperson at Century 21 was
busy with California clients
looking over a few horse
ranches. What makes horse
ranches so popular now?
WHEN DONA ORAM
told her friend Arlene Gur-
ecki that her three or four
regular baby sitters had re-
luctantly turned her down
at the last minute because
of untimely circumstances,
Arlene gladly accepted Don-
na's children, Julie and Ro-
byn, for a few days so
Donna and Bill could enjoy
a short stay in Toronto.
This may be the start of
something new among the
young marrieds . . . an ex-
change club.
FAY and LEON SITRIN
are back from an enjoyable
vacation visiting Washing-
ton, D. C. . . probably
checking to see where the
tax dollars go. The Sitrins
remarked that dining in the
capital city was excellent.
BUDDY NATHANSON
has a love affair with a mi-
crophone . . . almost every
affair he attends that has an Music Hall Center
orchestra, you will hear him 'Struts' Musical

Meanwhile, a number of
