JNF Dinner Honors Shayes
With Forest in Israel Park

Mr. and Mrs. Max M. Shaye, center, were honored
with the planting of 10,000 trees to form the Max and
Dorothy Shaye Forest in the American Bicentennial Na-
tional Park in Israel at the 75th anniversary dinner of
the Jewish National Fund. Shown with the Shayes are,
from left: Mark E. Schussel, president of the JNF Coun-
cil of Greater Detroit; Rabbi Irwin Groner of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek; the Shayes; Philip G. Givens, president
of the Canadian Zionist Federation, a member of the On-
tario legislature, former mayor of Toronto and guest
speaker; and Wilfred B. Doner, dinner chairman. More
than 500 persons attended the dinner which honored the
Shayes "for their distinguished service to Israel and to
the institutions and_causes of the Jewish community."

the Akiva Hebrew Day

the new academic year in
September 1976.

Rabbi Schostak has been
the principal of the yeshiva
of Crown Heights in Brook-
lyn, N.Y.

dained at the Hebron Yesh-
