Akiva Hebrew Day School students re-enacted the
re-capturing of the Western Wall during the school's re-
cent Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) observance.
The students designed a model of the Western Wall and
several students dressed up as Israeli soldiers. During
the observance the students dressed in blue and white,
decorated the halls of the building with pictures and
chanted prayers according to the special rite developed
by the chief rabbinate of Israel. Some students partici-
pated in a quiz on Jerusalem. A luncheon was tendered
the students by the school's parent teacher organization.
