Allon Says U.S. Will Start M.E. Peace Moves Soon

TEL AVIV (JTA) - For-
eign Minister Yigal Allon
said he believes the United
States may resume its Mid-
dle East ped-ce initiatives be-
fore the Presidential elec-
tions in November.
The American Adminis-
tration may want to renew
the momentum toward a
Settlement in order to fore-
stall possible Israel-Arab
friction during the election
campaign, Allon said in an
interview published in the

Labor Party periodical
Migvan. He said that if such
a process was started, it
would not necessarily end
before the elections.
Meanwhile, former De-
fense Minister Moshe
Dayan has proposed that
Israel announce it will pull
its troops out of West Bank
towns in a unilateral ges-
ture aimed at an overall
peace settlement with the
Arabs.

NEW YORK - A total of
28 Jewish graduates of four
United States service aca-
demies will be commis-
sioned as officers at gradua-
tion exercises during June.
The 28 include: five Jew-
ish graduates from the U.S.
Air Force Academy, Colo-
rado; nine Jewish graduates
from the U.S. Military Aca-
demy at West Point, N.Y.,
six Jewish graduates from
the U.S. Naval Academy at
Annapolis, Md., and eight
Jewish ,graduates at the
U.S. Merchant Marine Aca-

JERUSALEM (JTA) -
The Knesset has unani-
mously approved a bill on
first reading to commemor-
ate Israel's first premier,
David Ben-Gurion.
The anniversary of Ben-
Gurion's death will be a na-
tional memorial day in state
institutions and schools.
The grave of Ben-Gurion
and his wife will become a
state site. According to the
bill thi:Ve- institutions, Ben-
Gurion's home in Tel Aviv,
the Institute for the Legacy
of Ben-Gurion in Kibutz Sde
Boker in . the Negev, and the
Desert Research Institute
there, will be run by public

councils.

The Detroit area's newest
theater complex, The Movies
