He said that Detroit was
a city hospitable to Torah
learning and that love of To-
rah "is what unites us."
"Because of our love of To-
rah, we have survived," he
said.
The dinner was the oc-
casion of presentation
of a scroll of honor to com-
munal leader Nathan P.
Rossen. Avrohom M. Sil-
verstein, a founder of the
Kollel, made the presenta-
tion to Rossen, citing his
philanthropy.
A "woman of valor"
plaque was presented to
Chana Nusbaum " for 'her
contributions to the Kollel."
The presentation was made
by Abraham Bornstein, on
behalf of his father Joseph,
dinner committee chair-
man, who was taken ill.
Dinner chairman Morris
Chandler urged continuing
support for the Kollel. The
audience was entertained by
a surprise guest, Zion Sa-
don, a Sephardi from Israel,
who sang Israeli songs.

`UN Misrepresents Refugee Problem'
There is only one
NEW YORK (ZINS) — In
1976 the United Nation's
assistance to refugees —
primarily in the Arab refu-
gee camps — will cost some
$140 million. Over the past
20 years many member
states have contributed an.
aggregate of $67 million.
This sum exceeds the total
given by Egypt, Jordan,
Syria and Libya.
IT'S BECAUSE OF
LEADERSHIP IN SALES
AND SERVICE
Egypt's participation was
$5.5 million; Syria's was
$2.2 million; and that of oil-
rich Abu-- Dhabi, $191,000.
The Soviet Union, through-
out the entire period, has
failed to contribute even one,
cent in support of refugees.
The United States was the
leading contributor with
$619 million.

According to UN data,
there are supposed to be
334,000 Arab refugees in the
Gaza Strip. But the Israelis,
who now control that terri-
tory, can only find 222,000.
Israeli sources have also
argued that the UN provides
foodstuffs to hundreds of
thousands of Arabs under
Jordanian control and in the
Gaza Strip who already
have adequate means of
support and who do not
need the food rations for
their subsistence.
