loan for 10 years and the an-
nounced intention of princi-
pal stockholder Ghaith
Pharon of Saudi Arabia to
buy $10 million in new stock
to bail out Detroit's trou-
bled Bank of the Common-
wealth met with some disso-
nance at last week's Bank of
the Commonwealth annual
meeting.
The plan to sell new
shares of stock will be
placed before the stockhold-
ers for a vote in late summer
or early autumn.
Attorney Jack Kraiz-
man, who sued unsuccess-
fully to block the sale of
James T. Barnes family
stock to Pharaon, de-
nounced the new stock sale
plan because of Arab dis-
crimination and boycotts.
Kraizman said Bank of
the Commonwealth deposits
have declined since Pharaon
became involved with the
bank 15 months ago, and
predicted deposits would
fall further if Pharaon be-
came more involved with the
bank.

Moynihan Stumps
for James O'Hara

Former U.S. Ambassador
to the United Nations Dan-
iel Patrick Moynihan gave a
strong endorsement and
campaign boost to Michigan
Congressman James O'Hara
on Tuesday at a fundraiser
at Roma's of Bloomfield.
The event attracted more
than 200 supporters of
O'Hara's campaign to win
the Democratic nomination
for the U.S. Senate seat
being vacated by Sen. Philip
Hart.
Moynihan, in his brief
formal statement to the
crowd, said that O'Hara
was one of the few Demo-
crats left "who stand with
the free peoples of the
world, whether they be in
Australia or Israel."
O'Hara and Moynihan
first became acquainted
during the Kennedy Admin-
istration. O'Hara was a con-
gressman (12th District,
Macomb County) and Moy-
nihan an assistant secretary

of Labor at the time.

There are digitals.
And there are Concord digitals.

Dr. David L. Benkoff of

Oak Park was recently hon-
ored on the occasion of his
birthday and graduation
from Wayne State Univer-
sity Medical School with a
cocktail party at Lincoln
Towers Apts. club house
given by his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Bernard Benkoff
and his wife, Adrea. Among
the guests were Mrs. Sophie
Babbitt of Worchester,
Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Gross and son, Ed-
ward, of Long Island, N.Y.,
Mrs. Rose Weinstein of Riv-
erdale, N. Y., Mrs. William
Givner of Lorraine, Ohio,
and Mrs. Harvey Corzin of
Akron, Ohio.

And there's a world of difference between them. For in a
world of compromise, Concord makes none.

from a solid block of eighteen karat gold or stainless steel.
The CONCORD Digital guarantees exceptional accuracy to
within 60 seconds a year, is water resistant and has a three
year warranty.
