Southfield Youth Win Top
Prizes in State Forensics

Three Southfield High
School students placed in
the finals of the Michigan
Interscholastic Forensic
Associations annual compe-
tition.
They are: Dan Sandberg,
first place, radio broadcast-
ing; Howard Berlin, third,
informative speaking; and
Rick Korn, fifth, men's ex-
temporaneous speaking.
Dan was the only state win-
ner to score a perfect judg-
ing rating of 1, 1, 1 in the
final round of any of the 10
categories.
Other state contest parti-
cipants were Lisa Carleton,
16th, women's oratory; Fred
Smith, seventh, men's ex-
temporaneous speaking;
and Larry Nathanson, sev-
enth, men's oratory.
