In addition, Dr. Katsh trans- lated from Hebrew and ed- ited "The Chaim A. Kaplan Diary of the Warsaw Ghetto," which has since been published in French, German, Swiss, Japanese, and Braille editions. For more than 20 years, Dr. Katsh conducted work- shops in Israel for American students and professors. Leading Israelis including David Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir, Zalman Shazar, and Abba Eban were guest lec- turers. Katsh's workshops were the first for Ameri- cans in the Holy Land. Under Dr. Katsh, Drop- sie's third president since 1909, Dropsie changed from college to university status. It was previously known as Dropise College of Hebrew and Cognate Learning. Dr. Katsh plans to devote time to teaching, research, and writing after he steps down as head of Dropsie.
