On Sundays, three. Jewish
programs are broadcast at
6:30 a.m. and one at 11:00
p.m. and another at 11:15.
There has to be no other eth-
nic or religious group that
has programs broadcast at
ch prime time slots.
One of the programs is
the Message of Israel. The
Eternal Light, a national
network program, is not
even heard in this area. One
Sunday night I happened to
ten to it from Toledo.
Why are these programs
put on the air at all? In an
attempt to satisfy Federal
Communications Commis-
sion regulations. These
are called "public service
programs" at 6:30 a.m.
Many radio stations have
their licenses coming up for
renewal with the FCC in the
near future. If interested
groups or organizations
would merely contact these
radio stations, I feel certain
they would do something
about improving this situa-
tion.
