AT THE DATE OF this writing, we learn that the Scotch 'n Sirloin on Green- field has not as yet been sold . . . Mention in last week's column had it as a well- founded rumor. BOTTLE & BASKET OF Southfield in the Tel-12 Mall, has been sold . .. Sol Pitt and Benji Woznica have returned to the N. Hunter (Woodward) store in Bir- mingham . . . OWNERS OF Forbidden City North, on -Orchard Lake Rd., north of 13 Mile, in the K-Mart and Great Scott Shopping areas, are Henry Yee and barrister P. Scott Sherrer. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW about food, few bet- ter experts in town than Eve and Pete Novik . . . They eat out seven days a week . . . breakfast, lunch and dinner . . . Their oven at home is used "so much" that it's now a planter for flow- ers' . . . "I put in 35 years of cooking," says Eve and that's it . . . Pete agrees. AT MCINNERNEY'S on Northwestern just past 12 Mile, they have an all- you-can-eat setup, plus salad bar . . . and it's not an all-you-can-eat of only what is ordered . . . In other words, if they have chicken and veal as one of the eve- ning specials, a person can have a chicken dinner, and if they feel like it, a veal cu- tlet, too . . . all for the same price. MANY PEOPLE WHO GO to Tunnel Bar-B-Q across from the car exit, and have their delicious home- made pastries, like to go next door at the carry-out and see them on display . . . CRACKERS IS MICHI- GAN'S newest disco . . . and an ultra-modern beauty in the downstairs room at Squire's Table on Commerce Rd. The transformation from before is amazing . . . with two levels, bamboo soft light fixtures over the tables, un- usual wall decor, flashing lights and seating for 170 people. Jack Perlmutter, who also did the interiors at Banyan Tree Restaurant and Ele- phant Disco, has done a very fine job again at Crackers . . . Owner at both places, Norm LePage, is gaining the quick reputation as a disco king. Crackers has lots of ac- tion and good music . . . Middle-aged and older folks who love to disco dance, blend in together very nicely with the young folks in having a heck of a good time. Before going to what the waitresses used to call "that place downstairs," we had some of Chef John Kerersy's good food in the Squire's Ta- ble dining room . . . Creamed lobster soup, a huge delicious prime rib with the bone attached . . . cooked to perfection . . . brought to us by black bow- tied waitress Roberta Brown, who has been a Squire's Table standout for years . ... and one of the best gals around for top quality service . . . Then downstairs to Crakers and the disco'ing we never used to do before.
