BRUSSELS (JTA) — Representatives of Arab countries, Palestinian or- ganizations and West Euro- pean parliamentarians and businessmen met here last weekend for a two-day "Palestinian Conference" which, many said, came as a reply to the conference on behalf of Soviet Jewry held here two months ago. Hebron exiled leader, Dr. Ahmed Hamzeh, deported by Israel just before the West Bank municipal elec- tions, was among the 20 Arabs from the occupied territories who "testified" before the conference. Other "witnesses" came from in- side Israel itself and from Palestinian refugee camps abroad. The Israeli Embassy in Brusseels- released a com- munique deploring the fact that the conference had not invited "representa- tives from all the parties in the Middle East," namely Israel. It also stressed that it was symbolically held on May 15, the of the creation of the state of Is- rael, as if to underscore its desire to destroy the Jewish state. A British film, "Betrayal of Trust," claim- ing to retrace the "real his- tory" of Palestine, was shown at the conference. Priest Denounces Anti-Semitic Book PARIS (JTA) — A new edition of a Catholic book containing vicious accusa- tions against the Jews was strongly denounced by Ora- torian Father Pierre Da)- ville in the May editio' the newspaper Le Droit de Vivre (The Right To Live). The book by Father Ar- minjon, "Fin du Monde Present et Mysteres de la Vie Future" (The End of the Present World and Myster7 ies of Future Life) re-is by the central office of ,.„e Carmelite Order in Lisieux, Normandy, contains "scandalous accusations against the Jews." The newspaper Le Monde asked why it had been pub- lished again since it did nothing but hurt the Jews and 'humiliate the Chris- tians who took Vatican II seriously.
