Zelda Robinson Wins Women's
League Prize for Family Tree

Zelda Robinson was
awarded the Women's
League for Conservative
Judaism Award for Excell-
ence "in recognition of her
research and execution of
her entry in that group's
Bicentennial family tree
contest."
Mrs. Robinson researched
and compiled a seven-gener-
ation family record extend-
ing back to Vilna (Russia)
1825. The family tree lists
273 members in Russia,
Scotland, England, South
Africa; Canada, Ireland and
the U.S.
Mrs. Robinson began
the project as a child when
her grandmother told her
bedtime - stories about
cousins and her own early
days in Vilna. The original
manuscript, compiled on
a GU-toot roll of shelf
paper, has been carried to
members in various coun-

3 lbs. tongue
1 medium onion (quartered)
2 bay leaves
6 peppercorns
6 potatoes

Cover tongue with water; add
all ingredients except potatoes
and boil 3-4 hours. Remove
tongue; cool, peel and slice. Boil
the potatoes in the tongue liquid
until they are almost done. In a
casserole put one layer of tongue,
one of potatoes and cover with
barbeque sauce. Alternate about
3 layers. Roast uncovered at
325 degrees until brown.

BARBEQUE SAUCE
2 onions (diced)
1 green pepper (diced)
V2 cup celery (chopped)
1 can tomato puree
1 (12-oz.) can tomato paste
Saute onions, diced green pep-
pers and celery. Add tomato
puree and tomato paste to the
vegetables. Cook 10-15 minutes.

NEW YORK — Pioneer
Women led the honor roll of
American women's organi-
zations when the Henrietta
Szold Award was presented
to three of that organiza-
tion's former presidents at
the 25th annual convention
of the Association of Ameri-
cans and Canadians in Is-
rael held in Beersheva.
Thirty former presidents
and executive directors of
American and Canadian
Jewish organizations who
immigrated to Israel since
1967 were honored by the
AACI in the presence of
Prime Minister Yitzhak
Rabin.
