JNF-American National
Park in the southern Ju-
dean Mountains, within 25
miles of Jerusalem. It is in
a Biblical area, where
David slew Goliath and
later hid from Saul, and
where Samson fought and
defeated the Philistines.
The recreational sites will
use and blend existing fea-
tures and natural assets of
the area with additional
improvements and recrea-
tional facilities. The entire
project, being developed by
Jewish National Fund, will
cost $6 million. It will in-
clude:
• the opening of arterial
roads for the purpose of
improving access between
the area and Jerusalem;
• the establishment of a
system of recreational serv-
ices, picnic areas and hiking
routes;
• the creation of special
tourist sites and the plant-
ing of one million trees.
The American Bicenten-
nial National Park will be
didicated on July 4 in an
international ceremonial,
which will bring thou-
sands to the area, includ-
ing top U.S. government
leaders and the heads of
the state of Israel.
W. B. Doner, founder and
chairman of the W. B.
Doner Advertising Agency,
is chairman of the JNF din-
ner honoring the Shayes.
A dinner committee is
now in process of formation.

ish National Fund,

Survivor Warns
of New Terror

Harry Sherberg, a survi-
vor from the Nazi death
camps, sees a warning to
the present and next gener-
ation in anti-Semitic inci-
dents here. He refers specif-
ically to a personal injury
from a neighboring bigot.
Exactly 34 years to the
date when he escaped from
the Beblin camp in Poland,
he was severely beaten by a
neighbor, his arm broken,
because, as the assailant
said, he was a Jew.
Sherberg was liberated
from Theresienstadt,• where
he was interned after escap-
ing from the death camp, on
May 8, 1945. He is a shoe-
maker in the Chatham
Square Shopping Center.
