committee office in Louis-
iana and Arkansas for the
past year. The Louisiana-
Arkansas office is part of 'a
pilot program to bring un-
derstanding about the Mid-
dle East to an area of this
country where there is no
sizeable Jewish community.

A door-to-door "March for
Breath" campaign, spon-
sored by the Metropolitan
Detroit Chapters for the Na-
tional Asthma Center, Chil-
dren's Asthma Research
Institute and Hospital,
(CARIH) will take place
during May.
Proceeds will go to the
Center in Denver, Colo. for
the treatment and care of
children suffering from
crippling intractable
asthma and to support re-
search into the causes and
possible cure for asthma.,
and related allergic

seases.

Annual Meeting
The 56th annual meeting
)f United Hebrew Schools
will be held 8 p.m. Wednes-
day in the UHS Louis and
Esther LaMed Auditorium.
The annual election of of-
ficers and directors will
take place, as well as the re-
port on the state of the He-
brew schools, to be delivered
by Milton Lucow, president
and Dr. Jay Stern, superin-
tendent.
Special notice will be
taken of the retirement of
Mrs. Rae Goodman, who
has been teaching with the
UHS since 1948. A reception
