The booklet, which is being widely distributed, describes in detail the serv- ices and help Air France of- fers in North and South America, the Far East and the Middle East. A smaller brochure deals with the Middle East under the title "Advice for Middle East Business." In neither of these publications is Israel mentioned. 5 WEEK SESSIONS BEGIN MAY 31 CALL 476-6446 Private Lessons Available NON-MEMBERS WELCOME 48 Hour Deluxe Racquet Stringing CHILDREN'S SPECIAL! The spokesman said, "We keep the two areas separate so as to avoid possible reper- cussions." The spokesman added that Air France has an intensive advertising campaign for its Israel flights and works in cooper- ation with the Israeli airline El Al. Meanwhile, a Gaullist member of Parliament, Claude Gerard Marcus, has asked French Trans- port Minister, Marcel Ca- vaille, to investigate whether the omission of Is- rael is not due to Arab boy- cott threats. Marcus, a Jew who repre- sents a Paris district, also asked the minister whether he considers this "normal in view of Franco-Israeli rela- tions." Air France runs a twice daily service to Israel and has started using one of its newest and largest planes, the "Airbus" on this route. In London, Britain has as- sured Israel that there will be no more anti-Israeli dis- crimination by British Air- ways, the state-controlled aviation company. Gad Yaacobi, Israeli Transport Minister, said he had received the assurance from Stanley Clinton Davis, British Parliamentary Un- dersecretary in charge of transport matters. Davis had been shown about six examples of Is- rael's name being omitted from British Airways pub- licity material. He gave explanations for each one but assured Yaacobi that such cases would not hap- pen again. However, the list of com- plaints did not include Bri- tish Airways' practice of publishing a second "Arab" edition of its world-wide time-table excluding the services to Israel. A press officer for the state-owned aviation com- pany said that it prints two editions of its 24-page world-wide timetable. One of them, which includes the services to Israel, is for gen- eral distribution. The other, omitting Israel, goes to Bri- tish Airways offices in the Arab world. The spokesman also disclosed that BA draws up special lists of its offices which omit mention of its three offices in Israel. This has come to light because one of these lists was inadvertently sent to a company in Israel in connec- tion with an international conference on fire, security and safety held in London last week. British Airways had supplied the list to the organizers of the conference who distributed it exactly as it was received. These admissions were made following protests to BA over the absence of Is- rael from an otherwise comprehensive list of na- tionality marks on civil aircraft published in the company's 1976 diary. Previously, BA has claimed that this was "an unfortunate oversight," pointing out that the diary does give the addresses of its offices in Israel. But Paul Maurice, one of the BA's press officers, said that whoever drew up the list "must have dropped the Israeli marking for obvious political reasons." Bar-Ilan Dinner to Hear Senator NEW YORK — Senator Frank Church (D-Idaho) will speak at a dinner Wednesday honoring the 20th anniversary of Bar-Ilan University, Israel's only re- ligiously-oriented center of higher learning. The senator and his wife, Bethine, are both expected to participate in the pro- gram which will also mark the installation of the first woman chairman of the American Board of Over- seers of the Israeli school, Mrs. Jerome L. Stern of New York. Senator Church is ex- pected to discuss the cur- rent situation in Israel and his own views on United States foreign policy in this area. CALLING ALL KIDS! THIS AD IS JUST FOR YOU.
