Detroiters Will Get Seminary Degrees Sunday in New York Three area students will be among those honored at the 82nd annual commence- ment of the Jewish Theolog- ical Seminary of America Sunday at the Park Avenue Synagogue in New York. They are Maureen - Stahl, master's degree recipient; Michael Silberschein, bach- elor's degree recipient; and Earl Berris, recipient of a bachelor of sacred music degree and a cantorial di- ploma. Ms. Stahl received her BA from the University of Michigan and attended the Hebrew University in Jeru- salem. At the seminary, she majored in education and toured in Israel with the Za- mir Chorale. Silberschein partici- pated in the joint program with Columbia University, majoring in ancient stud- ies and..in Talmud at the seminary, where he re- ceived the Krasnow Award. He was on the Curriculum Committee of the Student government at the seminary, and was a member of the Zamir Cor- ale. The local residents are among 120 young men and women who will receive de- grees. In addition, Carl Kay- sen, the economist who is di- rector of the Institute for Advance Study in Prince- ton, and Hugo Weisgall, noted composer and conduc- tor, will each receive the degree of doctor of letters, honoris causa. Mrs. Adele Ginzberg, communal leader and widow of Prof. Louis Ginzberg, scholar and tal- mudist, will be installed as a member of the seminary's Society of Fellows at the graduation exercises.
