wirtz said. Recently, in any
case, the front has begun to
revert to open anti-Semi-
tism.
One of the main weap-
ons against the National
Front at the last general
election was a quarter of a
million leaflets distributed
throughout the country,
which exposed the Hitler-
ite past of the front's lead-
ers. They were produced
by the Board of Deputies.
But despite the Board of
Deputies' involvement in the
anti-racist fight there is re-
markably little contact with
Britain's minority commu-
nities which are the Na-
tional Front's main target.
The board has knocked at
the doors of minorities. But

Dutch Royalty Visits Israel

AMSTERDAM (JTA) —
The Dutch Cabinet has ap-
proved the forthcoming visit
to Israel by Crown Princess
Beatrix and her husband
Prince Claus, 'Premier Jo-
han den Uyl announced
here.
The couple will attend the
inauguration of a floor bear-
ing the princess' name at
Tel Aviv Medical School.
The princess and prince will
be accompanied by a per,-
sonal friend, Israeli diplo-
mat Avi Primor, who is
minister at the Israel Em-
bassy in Paris.

.

The royal couple was
forbidden to visit the occu-
pied territories and the
holy places. The govern-
ment's orders also prevent
the princess from making
any public statement or at-
tending any official cere-
mony apart from that at
the medical school. The
Dutch press was urged to
play down the visit.

This is the first time that
a member of the Dutch
royal family will visit Israel.
Meanwhile, The Nether-
lands Palestine Committee
has publicly protested
against the royal visit to Is-
rael. The committee ex-
pressed its "amazement and
dissatisfaction" and said the
visit coincides with Israel's
independence celebration
and "as such is a political
deed."
The committee called on
the princess and prince to
visit the Palestinians also,
in order to balance the trip.

l

lems, may be inhibited by
"anti-Zionism."
The Jewish community's
anomalous position is also
underlined by the fact that
not one Jewish organization
is listed in an ethnic minori-
ties directory published by
the government-sponsored
Community Relations Com-
mission.

NEW YORK — More
than 2,000 Yeshiva Univer-
sity students, together with
members of the administra-
tion, faculty, staff and per-
sonnel, held a graveside visit
Monday to pay last respects
to Dr. Samuel Belkin, presi-
dent of the university for 32
years, who died April 18.
The graveside visit, at
Beth El Cemetery, Para-
mus, N.J., was organized by
the undergraduate student
councils. Many students
were out of the city and
unable to attend the formal
funeral service due to the
university's closing during
the Passover recess.
Philip Kazlow, president
of the Student Organization
of Yeshiva, offered remarks
concerning Dr. Belkin's ten-
ure at the university and his
activities within the Jewish
community. The 21-year-old
senior compared Dr. Belkin
to both Job and the prophet
Samuel.
