JOEL LIPTON

Artist Award with the Flint
Symphony and the Earl
Moore Award at the Univer-
sity of Michigan. He studied
at U-M and at the Eastman
School of music.
Ms. Smith is the recipient
of the Metropolitan Opera
Auditions Award of 1974
and recently joined the com-
pany of the Metropolitan
Opera. She studied at Ober-
lin College Conservatory of
Music and pursued a doc-
toral degree at Indiana Uni-
versity.
Proceeds will provide
scholarships for young
musicians, musical instru-
ments for Israel and pro-
fessional concert appear-
ances for young artists.

'Women's Bicur Cholem
Organization will have its
annual donor luncheon noon
May 3 at Northland Inn.
The afternoon will fea-
ture entertainment by
"Music Plus One," who will
present a program, "A Lit-
tle Bit of This . . . A Little
Bit of That." Members of
the group include Gloria
Bookstein, Mary Freedland,
Freda Mendelson and Mar-
cia Tanzman, accompanied
by Rochelle Lakin. Betty
Fishman is narrator.
The women have donated
funds to Bicur Cholem pro-
jects in Israel, the Israel
Emergency Fund, Mo'os
Hitim, Juvenile Diabetes
League and has helped pro-
vide funds for kosher foods
and sedorim for state hospi-
tal patients. Audio visual
machines also have been
provided for patients at
Beaumont Hospital.
Mrs. Abe Bookstein is in
charge of the donor, and
Mrs. Sam Moscow is pres-
ident of the organization.

Summer Campers

being accepted for the Girl
Scouts of Metropolitan De-
troit's summer camping
program.
