Honors Abound for Bnai Brith
Presidents at Annual Brunch

Bond Women's May Luncheon
Will Honor Mrs. Charlupski

Honors will abound for
past and present Bnai Brith
lodge and chapter,_presi-

Franka Charlupski, the
new chairman of the
Greater Metropolitan De-
troit Women's Division of
Israel Bonds, will be offi-
cially installed at a spon-
sor's luncheon May 19 at the
Bloomfield Hills home of
Mrs. Joseph Krinsky.
Bonds have been a Char-
lupski family project. Their
son, Larry, -honored his
father on the occasion of his
birthday by becoming a
member of Israel Bonds'
Prime Minister's Club. The
senior Charlupski has been
a member of the elite club
for the past two years.
Charlupski also was hon-
ored by Bnai Brith Einstein
Lodge on his birthday. The
family helped build a pre-
kindergarten in Kiryat Bi-
alik near Haifa._
Mrs. Charlupski has been
named Israel Bonds'
"Woman of Valor," an
achievement reached by
selling a minimum of
$200,000 in Bonds.
Mrs. Charlupski is a
charter member of the
Bnai Brith Einstein Chap-
ter, a life member of Had-
assah and American
Mizrachi Women and a

Brunch to be held 10 a.m.
Sunday at Cong. Beth Abra-
ham-Hillel, in cooperation
with the Jewish National
Fund.
The program will feature
a talk by Ziedan Atashi,
Consul for the Israel Mis-
sion to the United Nations,
and citations for David Bitt-
ker, president of the Men's
Bnai Brith Council, and Glo-
ria Ellis, president of the
• Women's Council. Groves
will be planted in honor of
Bittker and Mrs. Ellis.
Bernard Panush, past
president of the Men's
Council and Evelyn Lev-
ine, past president of the
Women's Council, will co-
chair the event. Partici-
pating in the program are
Rabbi Ernst Conrad of
Temple Kol Ami, Meyer
Littky, council chairman
of the Martyrs Forst com-
mittee; and Mrs. David
Freedman, women's trib-
utes chairman.

planting of a minimum of

The Jewish Institute for
Brides and Grooms will be-
gin a six-week series of liv-
ing-room discussions and
workshops for engaged cou-
ples 8:30 p.m. May 2.
Organized by Nshei Cha-
bad, the Lubavitch Women's
Organization, the institute
will focus on "The Partner-
ship of Marriage."
The purpose of the series
of parlor workshops is to en-
courage young people about
to establish a new home to
take a "second look" at re-
levance of Jewish values in
the modern home.
Groups will be limited to
four or five couples each.
Each group will meet
weekly in a private home
and will exchange ideas,
comments and experiences
centering around Jewish
concepts such as kashrut,
Shabat, mezuza, the wed-
ding ceremony and Jewish
books in the home.
