WASHINGTON, (JTA) — Two aspirants for the Dem- -ocratic Presidential nomi- nation, Sen. Henry M. Jack- son of Washington and Rep. Morris Udall of Arizona, addressed themselves to two immediate issues in the Middle East on national tel- evision. Jackson, appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," warned of dire con- sequences for the Middle East and the entire world if Syria intervenes unilater- ally in the current Lebanese civil strife. Udall, on NBC's "Meet The Press," expressed firm opposition to U.S. arms supplies to Egypt. At the same time, former Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter said that Israel's settlements in the occu- pied territories were pro- per and that he supported the sale of the C-130 trans- port planes to Egypt, but not pre-emptive weapons. Carter made his remarks in answer to questions during a 30-minute meet- ing with an invited group of about 100 Jewish lead- ers. Answering a question which noted that the Ford Administration has called the Jewish settlements in Black Market Drop Forseen TEL AVIV (ZINS) — De- spite inflation, Israeli ex- perts foresee a drop in the price of the black market dollar. A heavy influx of vis- itors for Passover and Inde- pendence Day with a larger supply of free dollars will drive the price of the dollar down. the territories illegal, Carter said Israel has never said the settlements are per- manent and there is no rea- son why the land itself should not be settled. Earlier in his prepared re- marks, Carter repeated his statement made several times _previously that if he was premier of Israel he would not give up control of the Golan Heights or of East Jerusalem, including the holy places. He said as Pres- ident he would not press Is- rael to relinquish those areas. 1 #2 1 afesfidook citswx) rove a- cup il of coilyee add. ... eallAPA-Maki" 557-2008 amilet someone eke dr, the work TRANSPORTATION INCL. • °Trained 11111 Bonded 11111111111 °Insured 11111111111\ HAIR CHATEAU Has Moved To Bigger & Better Quarters (Formerly CHERRI Beauty Salon) TO BETTER SERVE YOU from Hair Chateau Russ — Phil Betty — Celia David (Formerly of Mario & Davids) Donald — June Maxine — Sharon Sue — Tracy Former members Cherri Staff Arlene Debbie Itaf J oe (formerly_of Cherri Beauty Salon) 1 Secret With This Top Talent Combined Under One Roof "If We Can't Do It No One Can" Phone the experts for your appointment 356-6250 Tel Ex Plaza 10 Mile & Tele61.11Vh"""
