Martin Agronsky to Speak
at Temple's Haas Lecture

Martin Agronsky, radio
and television news com-
mentator, will be the 14th
speaker in the annual Dan-
iel M. and Sophie Hass Me-
morial Lecture series of
Temple Israel.
His address, which is
open to the community
without charge, will take
place at 8:30 p.m. April 27 at
the temple.
Agronsky, who is related
to Gershon Agron, the late
editor and publisher of The
Jerusalem Post, will speak
bn "Israel-War, Peace and

covered the Arab-Jewish

Humanist Judaism Society Will Meet

The Society for Humanis-
tic Judaism will hold its
annual conference April
30-May 2 at the Birming-
ham Temple.
The theme for the confer-
ence will be "Humanistic
Judaism — A Distinct Life
Style." The programs and
discussions will focus on the
behavior options, ethical,
aesthetic and ceremonial,
which are of particular in-
terest to Jewish humanists.
The opening service of the
conference will be entitled

"Humanistic Judaism — A
Distinct Life Style." The
May schedule includes crea-
tive programs, a luncheon, a
banquet and a presentation
by the Birmingham Temple
Drama Group. The conclud-
ing day's activities include
the annual meeting, a dis-
cussion on "What Kind of
Humanistic Judaism — In-
dividualiSt or Collectivist?"
and brunch.
