Settlement Must Be Pursued MAJOR'S CAFE "Fine Food for Fine People" Bring the Family REASONABLE PRICES WASHINGTON (JTA) — Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger said that the Ford Administration has con- cluded that after two-and-a- half years of step-by-step diplomacy in the Middle East, "an overall settlement must be pursued sooner rather than later." He made that statement at a State Department luncheon given April 1 in honor of visiting King Hussein of Jordan. Kissinger also said that A special Detroit Campaign leadership meeting "progress on all three fronts March 31 brought, seated, from left Campaign Section is probably the most relia- leader Edie Mittenthal„ Federation Executive vice presi- ble and effective way" to dent William Avrunin and Women's Campaign chair- achieve an overall Middle man Ruth K. Meanwhile, Arab repre- sentatives to the UN re- jected a suggestion by Wal- dheim that the Security Council hold a meeting on the situation in Lebanon. The Arabs agreed that ef- forts to resolve the 11-month crisis in Lebanon should be pursued by the 20-member Arab League and not opened for a Secu- rity Council debate at this time. -I 23250 SHERWOOD 539-3700 Warren, Michigan Hair Remoyed Forever Our Hrba i yrs and •ri...nit, LaMed Auditorium of the United Hebrew Schools. Sternstein, presi- dent of the Zionist Organi- zation of America, has cabled his support to the 40 members of the Masada-of- ZOA Youth Movement who are now in Israel preparing to establish a settlement in Galilee. The members of the youth movement departed for Israel last October, and are planning to move into their settlement this sum- mer. Fifty additional Amer- icans now in the United States are preparing to join the original group in June. The new settlement will be based on small industry and will eventually house 150 families. Persons interested in the project can write to ZOA House, 4 East 34th St., New York 10016. CBS Report Hits Israel's Treatment of Arab Citizens WASHINGTON — A CBS news report on March 29 branded- Israel's treat- ment of her Arab citizen's as apartheid. According to news re- porter Tom Fenton, "Israeli Arabs are mistrusted by Israeli Jews. The Israeli Arabs are strangers in their own country." He called Is- rael's policy toward its Arab citizens "unofficial aparth- eid." Near East Research, Inc., denied the report and said Arab citizens participate fully in Israel's political life. Arabs in Israel and in the West Bank and Gaza are paid the Histadrut wage and their standard of living is higher than in most Arab states. r Southfield Rd. at 13 Mile 647-7037 Passover Greetings MENDELSON EGG CO • 13080 Capitol Ave., Oak Park 541-4060 1?r,1 II 1,11c, (,1i the I 'ts,,(it MERRILL PHARMACY 1_5500 Puritan BR 3-3390 (Corner Greenfield 1-'11EF, DELIVERY r -- Nom mak 11 ) nu I rsl,ru I la pp v PtIsNiwt , r I I I MIAMI BAKE SHOPPE powwwwwwwwswarm 1 I )(,, N.v)('Cr (;0'('////Lf'.`; PIEDMONT AUTO ELECTRIC SERVICE Motor Tune-Up Specialists Trucks and Passenger Cars E.
