ZOD Proposal is Considered by Jewish Community Council

The Zionist Organization
of Detroit has proposed the
following resolution to be
considered at the next meet-
ing of the Jewish Commu-
nity Council:
We, The Jewish Commu-
nity Council of Metropolitan
Detroit
1. Consider it obscene to
propose that Israel or the
United States accept the Pa-
lestinian Liberation Organi-

Europeans and Israeli
peaceful civilians as well as
the dreadful nightmare they
caused in Lebanon. The
PLO was established by the
Arab states and is sup-
ported by Russia for the sole
purpose of destroying
America's steadfast ally,
Israel.
2. Are disturbed by the
repeated contention that
Mideast peace depends on a
"Palestinian" settlement.
That is not so. Peace de-

rael instead of using the
PLO as a weapon in their
continuing war. It would be

burden on Israel to main-
tain an adequate defense,
but it wastes resources that
should be used for economic
development for a better life
for all the people of the re-

for Israel's absolute right to
her sovereignty, self-deter-
mination and peace with

Even their short-range rock-
