Mrs. Klee was in- stallation chairman. * * Israeli Diplomat to Speak at Bnai Brith Event for JNF Ziedan Atashi, Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Na- tions, will be the guest speaker at the 10th annual Bnai Brith Presidents Brunch 10 a.m. April 25 at Cong. Beth Abraham-Hillel. The brunch will be held in cooperation with the Jewish National Fund. Counsellor Atashi is a Druze, who has served in the Israel Defense Forces. He worked among the youth of the Druze community, in a program inaugurated by Histadrut, then was ap- pointed deputy director gen- eral of the Arab and Druze Workers Youth Movement. He has served on the fac- ulty of Haifa University. Atashi was appointed Israel Consul for Information with the Consulate General in New York and served for three years. Oduber prasied Israel's respect for the holy places in Jerusalem which he had vipited on a tour guided by Mayor Teddy Kollek. He said that just as Costa 20% on Rica had backed Israel at its inception, it would continue to back the Jewish state in its effort to achieve genuine peace within secure and rec- ognized borders. The goal of the brunch is to complete the planting of the Fourth Detroit Forest of 10,000 trees which will be lo- cated in the Bnai Brith Mar- tyrs' Forest in Israel. Pincus Education Fund Operating JERUSALEM, (JTA) -- The Pincus Fund for Jewish Education in the Diaspora has begun to operate, Max Fisher, chairman of the Jewish Agency Board of Governors announced. The board mapped out broad guidelines for the use of its monies — interest , earned from a capital of $5 million. The priorities, offi- cials said, will be teacher training, educational mate- rials and research, and es- tablishment and expansion of educational institutions. Priority will be given to requests from less well- served communities — in South America, Europe, the Moslem countries and re- mote Jewish communities.
