Cleveland Cantor to Appear

Cantor Elliot J. Portner
of Cleveland will present a
program of contemporary,
operatic, Hasidic, and li-
turgical music 7:30 p.m.
April 4 at the Oak Park
High School Auditorium.
He will be accompanied on
the piano by Mildred Zim-
balist.
Cantor Portner achieved
renown at age 23 by serving
as cantor of The Park Syn-
agogue of Cleveland, the
largest Conservative congre-
gation in the United States.
Cantor Portner, who is
listed in "Who's Who in Re-
ligion," has performed in
concert in the major Jewish
communities in the U.S.

ored with the Bnai Brith
President's Medal during a
special Bicentennial confer-
